From Capsule To Gut Balance
SodaTide's five ingredients work on two fronts: prebiotic fiber feeds beneficial gut bacteria, and probiotic strains reinforce a healthier intestinal environment.
Why Fiber Comes First
Chicory root inulin (211mg) and potato resistant starch (100mg) are both fermentable prebiotic fibers — they travel largely intact through the upper digestive tract and reach the colon, where resident bacteria ferment them into short-chain fatty acids.
The Headline Strain: Akkermansia Muciniphila
Akkermansia is a mucin-degrading gut species that has drawn substantial research interest for its association with gut barrier integrity and metabolic markers such as insulin sensitivity. It's genuinely distinct from the Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species found in most commercial probiotics.
The Supporting Strains
Clostridium butyricum produces butyrate, a short-chain fatty acid that serves as a primary fuel source for the cells lining the colon. Bifidobacterium infantis supports the breakdown and digestion of nutrients.
An Honest Note
Akkermansia research has shown associations with insulin sensitivity and metabolic markers, but that is not the same as a proven weight-loss effect, and SodaTide has not been clinically tested for weight loss as a finished product. See the full ingredient breakdown.
